EPISODE SUMMARY
This podcast is dedicated to celebrating the journey of black women to embrace their natural hair, with our host, Lisa. E, aka Natural Born Sistah, who inspires black women to groom and confidently flaunt their natural hair.
In this episode with Angie Boyd, Professional Cosmetologist and Podcaster, talks about her 23 years of coming out natural, before coming out natural was a thing. She emphasizes on why it’s important to be a professional when it comes servicing clients. Angie is a healer through the world of hair. She’s also experienced stigmatism from her hair instructor in hair school who was considered a black professional in the world of hair. .
Angie talks about why she doesn't like to use the natural hair labels such as 4 a,b, or c, which were created by Oprah's stylist as a sales tactic for the products he created. Her favorite way of describing hair is that it has a little bit of everything instead of being characterized by a certain texture or numbers and letters. This philosophy stems from how her podcast was named, “I Never Met a Texture I Don’t Like”.
