In this episode with Lisa E, a Natural Hair Enthusiast, describes in detail the circumstances of her pregnancy till when she becomes fully natural. She leads us to a series of events that is much the opposite of her introduction story. More like the resolution of all things wrong.
SHOW NOTES
Lisa was forced to move in with her parents in Far Rockaway NY because of her faults. Dropping out of high school and getting pregnant, she never fought back as she knew she did wrong. Lisa’s journey created a positive turn around that led her to the creation of Natural Born Sistah. A t-shirt line that would give her confidence in the struggle to embrace rocking her natural hair. For her, wearing these tees would not only help her in her journey, but keep her confident in her struggle and give her the voice she needed so that she may hold herself accountable to wearing her natural hair.
When Lisa started the t-shirt line, Natural Born Sistah, it was for herself, at first. It was to confidently express her innermost thoughts on her own beautiful canvas, her upper body without having to explain to others who did not understand her hair. However she found a need to share with others who are still struggling to embrace their natural hair. So to speak so everyone can hear, she created the audio diary called “Kinky In The Kitchen” to give those a voice, who may have their own stories to tell.
